Sixth Form (Age 16-19)

Since the school is within the 11 to 18 age range, a very high proportion of students remain in the school until they have completed their Sixth Form studies. A growing number of students from outside the school also come to join the Sixth Form Centre.

A variety of subjects are offered at A and AS Level as well as vocational subjects leading to the GNVQ qualification at intermediate and Advanced levels. Most of our Sixth Form students go on to study at University or College.

Life in the Sixth Form
In addition to their academic work, students are encouraged to participate in a range of extra-curricular and sporting activities. By doing so, they make a valued contribution to the life of the school community, and develop responsibility and self-confidence in preparation for adult life. They are also encouraged to take advantage of the competitions and award schemes that are available for students in their age range.

Religious Education
All students in Years 12 & 13 follow a course in Religious Education which is well thought out and designed to meet the needs of young people in this age range. The course gives them the opportunity to deepen their own spirituality and to consider aspects of their faith.

There have been two recent Sixth Form pilgrimages to the Holy Land, Sixth Form retreats are organised and the school sponsors students on a National Leadership course. The Sixth Form Liturgy team, together with the Assistant Chaplain and the RE department are responsible for organising all the major liturgies within the school.
