Head Teacher's Welcome

Welcome to our website that has been launched to coincide with the centenary of the school as we celebrate 100 years on the Amhurst Park site. I hope all of you, whatever your connection with the school, will enjoy visiting the many different pages to find out more about your particular areas of interest.

I have arrived as Headteacher at Our Lady's via many, very different schools and experiences. I started as a mathematics teacher and Resident House Tutor in the girl's boarding house, Arniston, at Fettes College in Edinburgh then married and moved to London to teach in North London Collegiate School, Stanmore. My time here was fairly shortlived as we then moved to the Midlands and I accepted a post as Mathematics teacher in the local village comprehensive school. I gave up full time work for a considerable period while my four daughters were young and finally returned to full time work in another school in the Midlands.

A family move to the South East brought me to Brentwood Ursuline Convent High School, where I was Deputy Headteacher for just over six years before my move in January 2004 to this school. No school can be fully reflected in just words and pictures but I hope a tour around our site will give you a flavour of life at Our Lady's Convent High School.
