What We Offer
Experience:
We provide a wide range of activities for our MV that
covers skill learning elements such as physical, mental,
communication, cultural, IT, and learning from one-self
and each other.
Personal development:
Young people often refuse to take part in activities
due to their lack of confidence and fear. We encourage
our MV to try new things and to get involved in something
that they first thought was not relevant to them; by
doing this, it can help them to over-come their fear
and increase their confidence to face the next challenge.
Social communication:
They get the opportunity to have direct contact with
the public and their local council while participating
in the community. The best thing is that they get to
make new friends with people from all walks of life.
Self-satisfaction:
This is what really drives most of the MV in doing voluntary
work, and it is what drives us to do voluntary work
in the end, getting the MV hours is just the bonus.
It has always been the motto of our project that “every
effort from the MV contribution counts!” Their
positive attitude has always been the strong element
of success in every community activity which they have
taken part. Seeing the smile on both the MV and the
service users (i.e. elderly and young children), the
satisfaction and appreciation that has been acknowledged
by the community, all these have brought tremendous
encouragement to the MV member.
Every MV has their own individual ability, characteristic,
skills and ambition as everyone else. Therefore, it
is important to select the right task to match to their
personal profile in order to stimulate their interest
in doing voluntary work. |
