Chinese Housebound Project
Aims
The Aim of the Chinese Housebound Project is to improve
the quality of life of frail or disabled Chinese elderly
by providing them with domiciliary care and personal
care so that they can live independently in their homes.
What the service does
All service users will have a care plan setting out
what help they will receive. Tasks may include:
- Vacuuming, dusting, cleaning toilet, kitchen and
bathroom.
- Laundry tasks and ironing, shopping, pension or
prescription collection, paying bills etc.
- Assisting in bathing, washing hair, dressing and
undressing
Service Enhancements
As a result of Consultation Meetings and service surveys,
the project worker is able to analyse feedback from
the users and make improvements to the service accordingly.
There have been a few training courses for the domiciliary
care workers and next year, we plan to arrange more
training for them. We can then provide a better service
when our care-workers are educated and familiar with
aspects of their profession.
In the coming year, we will be re-designing the promotional
leaflets and doing more outreach work to raise the awareness
of the Chinese Housebound Project inside and outside
Camden as this is still our top priority.
